Are you ready to be a part of the best Boy Scout Troop ever?
We have an amazing troop and would love for you to join us!
We would love to have you come join us at a Monday Troop meeting, or even on a campout! We invite you to email the scoutmaster, for any questions you may have.
Qualifications
To become a Boy Scout, a boy:
- Must have completed the 5th grade, OR
- Be at least 11 years old, but less than 18 , OR
- Have earned the Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scouts
He must know and be willing to live by the Scout Oath and Scout Law, and participate in troop and patrol activities. His parents or guardian must be willing to work with him in the troop. The more involved the family is in Boy Scouting, the more rewarding experience the scout discovers. We encourage parents to become trained leaders and can always find roles for volunteers.
A Completed BSA Application and Medical forms parts A and B are required before any scout or adult can participate in Troop 570 activities as a member. Adult members must also complete the Youth Protection Training available online at MyScouting.org and furnish a copy of the certificate to the troop. Prior to joining, scout visitors are always welcome on campouts with an adult partner.

Dues
Annual dues are $205.00, payable each year in the fall; pro-rated amounts will be applied for scouts who join during other months of the year. The dues cover our local council registration ($72) and troop expenses (approximately $11/month) for equipment, awards, etc. A subscription to Boys’ Life magazine is optional for an additional $15/year. There will be opportunities for Scouts to raise funds to help cover these costs (popcorn sales, flag routes, etc).
Meetings
Troop 570 meets every Monday from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm in the cafeteria at Spring Creek Elementary. Meetings are opportunities for the boys to get to know others in their patrols, work on learning skills and showing mastery to earn rank advancement, and planning for activities. First year scouts (aka TFCs) will meet 30 minutes prior to each meeting @ 6:30 pm.
Campouts
Campouts are scheduled monthly and usually cost $30 per person for food & fees, which is collected two weeks prior to the campout. Each patrol plans and buys its own food. For summer camp, Troop 570 attends Camp Constantine the last week of June or first week of July. New scouts are encouraged to attend and gain experience camping with the troop while working on early rank requirements.
